My life's purpose and heart's desire is to know God, to get to know others, and to help others to know God by sharing the wonderful words of life found only in the Word of God.
I trust you will praise God with me as you see how God is working in me and through me in Brazil.
My life verse: 1 Samuel 12:24 - "Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart, for consider how great things He has done for you."
Pray for me:
- To walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being faithful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10
- To be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. Ephesians 3:16
- That I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6.19
- So that...the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified. 2 Thessalonians 1:12

LYNELL'S TESTIMONY
"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry." 1 Timothy 1:12
Born to godly Christian parents in Cedar Falls, Iowa, I thank God for my Christian heritage. I am grateful that I was taught the Word of God and heard the gospel message when I was young. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at the age of 7, and was baptized shortly thereafter becoming a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church. I am thankful that God used many godly people to influence my life and to teach me the Bible. God has been working in my life step-by-step, leading me to follow His will for my life, that of serving Him in foreign missions as a church-planting assistant.
In July 1990, I was appointed by Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) as a missionary to Brazil (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and was commissioned by Cedar Heights Baptist Church in March 1991. I arrived in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for my first term of service in November 1993.
I served in Belo Horizonte from November 1993-July 2001. In Belo Horizonte, my main ministry as a church-planting assistant was working directly with a church and either with one missionary couple or with a Brazilian pastor and his wife. The other ministries in which I have been involved include Camp Ministries, AWANA, and mission teams coordinator.
In January 2002, I moved from Belo Horizonte in the Southeast region of Brazil to Campo Grande in the West Central region of Brazil. There I joined a team of two missionary couples and one single lady missionary to be involved in a pioneer work in this region.
I desire to serve the Lord with all my heart and to be an integral part of the church-planting team here in West Central Brazil. The ministry God has given me is to assist in various ways in the church planting and church strengthening ministries through evangelism, discipleship, ministry to children, youth, and women.
